FAQs

  • For all inquiries, including general booking information, quotes, consultations, running ideas by me, etc. please fill out the form on the “Request Appointment” page. This form will tell me everything I need to know to be able to answer your questions and move forward with your ideas.

I do not book appointments other way

  • My studio is appointment only. I do not take walk-ins. You must make request an appointment to get a tattoo.

  • I take appointments Wednesdays through Saturdays, starting at 11am.

I reserve Tuesdays for admin work. It is the best day to reach out to me.

You can request certain dates and times and I will do my best to schedule you at those times but I cannot guarantee it. Fridays and Saturdays fill up the fastest and often have a waitlist.

I generally only book 1-2 months out at a time. Any further out leads to too many cancellations and reschedules.

I open the books for the next month the first week of the month. Ex: books for February open January 1st.

  • I charge per piece with a one-hour or $150 minimum. This means that all tattoos are at least $150.

A $50-$100 deposit is required to book an appointment. Your deposit will be deducted from your total.

I use the Square payment platform. I accept all major credit/debit cards, ApplePay, and cash. I do not accept Venmo or Zelle.

Once we agree on your appointment date, you will receive more information about how to pay the deposit and what to expect.

  • Shop minimums are common for the majority of tattoo shops. Having a minimum helps shop owners and artist make enough to stay in business and pay themselves.

Every tattoo, regardless of how small, requires the same amount of set up, supplies, correspondence, drawing time, shop rent and utilities, licensing/permitting, insurance, taxes, client care, along with performing the actual tattoo. Without shop minimums, our businesses would not be able to survive.

  • When my schedule fills up, I prioritize pieces and projects that interest me and align with my abilities the most.

    Some examples are:

    • Large scale, multi-session pieces

    • Black & grey illustrative styles

    • Floral, botanical, animals, insects, creatures, nature themes

    • Color pieces in a painterly style

  • My studio is a safe space and a place of peace for my clients and for myself. For this reason there are a few things that are a hard no for me:

    • Any kind of harmful or hateful symbol/words

    • Some religious imagery, I’m not a religious person and do not feel comfortable designing highly religious artworks.

    • Ideas that do not fit my skillset

    • One tiny tattoo at a time (book 3 or 4 to maximize your appointment)

    • Tattoo ideas that will not age well

    • Direct replicas of existing tattoos

There are also some placements and situations that I will decline:

    • I do not do finger or hand tattoos

    • I do not tattoo groin areas, in particular on men

    • I also reserve the right to decline men entirely

I work alone and prioritize my safety, I will also say no if I get a weird feeling about you, the design, the placement, etc.

This is all to create a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable working environment for both of us.

  • You only need to submit a form one time if both pieces of art are the same and you both will be there at the same time. I will book your appointment as one, including just one deposit.

The cost will be determined by the tattoo design, size, and placement that you want. I will let you know ahead of time a cost estimate.

If you’d like an appointment together but with different art, please specify in your form submission the different artwork and placements. You may submit one form for different art, just please let me know that it will not be the same art for both of you.

  • Touch-ups are very normal. Don’t worry. They are especially normal for the type of fine-line tattoos that I primarily do. I will always make time for your touch-up and it will always be complimentary within one year.

To avoid the need for a touch-up, please follow the aftercare guidelines. Improper aftercare can be a major contributing factor to requiring a touch-up. Please remember that everyone is different, every skin is different, and everyone has different sensitivities. Not all tattoos heal the same on all bodies.

You may also still need a little touch-up even with perfect aftercare, don’t stress, I’ll take care of you

You do not need to fill out the form for a touch-up, just reach out to me, email or DM and let me know. Please also include a photo of the healed tattoo.

We need to wait at least 4 weeks from the first tattoo before doing the touch-up.

Please keep in mind that tattoo inks lighten as they heal. Your healed tattoo will never be as dark and crispy as the day it was done. That does not mean you need a touch-up, that is just how tattoos heal.

  • You can absolutely use numbing cream. I am all for you doing whatever you need to do to be as comfortable as possible.

I ask that you research and purchase your own product and use as directed prior to your appointment.

Do NOT use numbing creams that have more than 4% Lidocaine, and do NOT use any that have any Epinephrine at all. If products with these ingredients are used, it will change the way your skin responds to being tattooed, making the skin either too gummy to tattoo or too hard, and closed up too much to tattoo.

If this is how your skin is when we begin tattooing, I will have to stop and we will have to resume on a different date when your skin has returned to normal.

It is super important to read the ingredients carefully and to let me know that you have used a numbing cream.

If you’d like to use it, I ask that you purchase it yourself and research the brand and ingredients. This is not a regulated product and there are many, many formulas out there, not all are reputable and every skin has it’s different sensitivities. Please find one that would be best for you.

  • Yes you can. I ask that you limit it to just one, maybe two people if needed.

My studio is very small and feels crowded quickly.

Having too many people in the space can compromise my ability to keep a safe and clean working environment, as well as compromise my ability to concentrate on your tattoo.

  • You fell in love with an art piece and need someone to tattoo it? I get it and am open to doing so. There are a few stipulations though.

The artwork needs to be something that I, personally, have the ability to do justice.

You need to have permission to use the art. You can achieve this by reaching out to the artist. Many artists are okay with their works being tattooed as long as you ask permission and/or they may require you to purchase something, maybe a print, a sticker, a “tattoo token”, etc. Every artist has their own rules.

You do not need permission if it is a classic work of art available for public use.
